CIAA Classes

Classes (Group Lessons) - These are ideal for those who wish to take up Taijiquan or other Internal Arts as a recreational activity. Everything that is of importance in developing Internal Power is taught and practised in regular classes, but of necessity the classes are designed to cater for the different abilities and aspirations of many students.
For those that wish to deepen their knowledge, other options are also available - individual tuition, instructor courses, advanced group tuition, etc.

Below is a list of weekly classes. For those unable to attend weekly classes we have once-a-month classes.

Taijiquan

Bracknell SM - Monday 19:00 - 20:00 : beginners: Taiji exercises, Qigong

Terms and Costs

The 8-week terms in 2010 start during the week beginning on 11 January, 8 March, 3 May, 28 June, 23 August, 18 October (Taiji exercises and Qigong can be started anytime).

Fees for a 8-week term:

The above fee includes a CIAA membership (otherwise this costs £35 a year) that includes: For the first lesson come along to any of the beginners classes at the beginning of the term. Those who, for any reason, miss a class, may attend a class on another day in its place. Those wishing to attend more than one lesson per week will be charged £5 for each additional lesson (payable on the day).

CIAA Once-a-month classes

Due to the large time lag between lessons and the amount of material presented in each lessons, it is advisable for students to attend all lessons and so the classes will be organised in terms of several months (see each section for details). The number of students will be restricted to ensure plenty of individual coaching.

Chen style Taijiquan - Saturday sessions

There are two classes available:

Laojia - Old Style. Anyone is welcome for a day (see cost of single sessions below) to improve their form.

When: 10:30 to 16:30 on the third Saturday of each month (check diary of events as the dates occasionally change)
Where: Reading AS but on 21 August in Church United
Cost: £180 CIAA members for six consecutive sessions or £45 (£40 CIAA members) per single session

Xinjia - New Style. Knowledge of Laojia is strongly recommended for this course.

When: 14:30 to 18:30 on the third Saturday of each month (check diary of events as the dates and times occasionally change)
Where: Reading AS but on 21 August in Church United
Cost: £180 CIAA members for six consecutive sessions

Pushing hands and self-defence applications will be taught in both classes in parallel with the forms.

Yiquan

Cost: £210 CIAA members for six consecutive sessions or £50 (£45 CIAA members) per single session
